I was never friends with Arjun Kapoor: Sonakshi Sinha

Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who will be seen opposite Arjun Kapoor in an upcoming film Tevar, reveals that the two were not friends before working together. There was a common assumption that because they are both star kids and grew up in the same neighbourhood, they would know each other since childhood.

"Arjun is a great co-star. We weren’t friends earlier. We knew each other as kids and would meet at birthday parties. In fact, I knew him more as Sonam’s (Kapoor) brother. It’s only now that we have bonded," says Sonakshi, adding, "He’s a very intelligent, well-spoken and funny guy, besides being a good actor."

Sonakshi adds that the movie, which is being produced by Arjun’s father, Boney Kapoor, is one for the masses. "It’s a film for everyone. It’s a young love story and I’m looking different in it. In fact, my role, too, is different from what I’ve played before," she says.

Sonakshi Sinha’s tweet to birthday boy Shahid Kapoor

They sizzled onscreen as lovers in Prabhudheva’s ‘R…Rajkumar’ and did some ‘gandi baat’ on Karan Johar’s talk show ‘Koffee with Karan’. But alleged (not the right word) couple Sonakshi and Shahid have categorically denied being in a relationship.

Shahid also went on to say that he wouldn’t ever want to date an actress again after two failed relationships (with Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra).

But Sona doesn’t really seem to care about gossip and speculations. She took to Twitter to wish her co-star, who turned 33 today, a very happy birthday.

She tweeted, “Happy Birthday @shahidkapoor!! Goa mein gandi baat aur party all night okkk :p have funnnns!!”

Sonakshi Sinha is Radha for ‘Tevar’

Sonakshi Sinha represents the ultimate Indian woman on the silverscreen. She comes across as a breath of fresh air at a time when most Bollywood actresses prefer sporting a westernized look.

Shotgun Junior, who joined Instagram recently, posted pictures of herself as Radha. Sonakshi shot for a song titled ‘Music bajega loud toh Radha nachegi’ choreographed by Remo D’Souza. The aforementioned song is from the film ‘Tevar’ which will see the damsel romancing Arjun Kapoor for the first time. The girl with ‘mast mast nain’ was launched by her mentor Salman Khan in 2010 and has since then become producers’ hot favourite.

She has been paired opposite heavyweights Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn and has romanced men of her age group- Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh- too. Her performance in ‘Lootera’ surprised her critics and compelled them to applaud her for her role in the film. Sonakshi has come a long way and has miles to go. Bollywood’s Sona aka ‘Radha’ is here to rock!
